  3. MISSHA M SIGNATURE REAL COMPLETE BB CREAM review

I’m starting a birthday countdown in an hour so I can like.. go into details about important events in my life 10 days before my birthday, yeap, you guessed it, I was born on the 23rd of January.

I know I’m a bit excited about these birthday things and I’m even planning the days I’ll be spending as a total pig for the month’s bestEST celebration. Keke!

I have Psychology exam tomorrow but I figured it’d be great, and it’ll put me in the right mood as well, to report or REVIEW a BB Cream which I thought I loved: MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream, before going on the actual studying mode, ugh, I hate stressful weekdays! T.T

So far, this one’s a mouthful from Missha, I’m talking about the name, that is.

MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream REVIEW

I got this on their official Missha website:

    NOW, ISN’T THAT TEMPTING?

I attempted to try this out since my bestfriend loved the Perfect Cover version of the bb cream and I’ve been reading rave reviews of this variant all over the net. I’ve also came to know that this new version is an upgrade of the previous one and since it claimed to be perfect for sensitive skin, then I knew I just had to get my hands on this! I bought sachet samples of this one from a trusted ebay seller: BIGTOKYO, who also happens to bid them in SUPER LOW prices!!! Now, a make-up geek must also be a smart financial saver, right? :)

Let’s get the lowdown on the product, shall we?

Before that, I want everyone to know of my skin type because I may have to warn you guys that what may or may not work for me doesn’t necessarily mean that it might or not might work for you as well. We all have different skin which ranges differently too, so it’s always a matter of trial and error, if you’re risking it, I guess.

    MY SKIN:

Very oily especially in the Philippine’s Humid weather. NC25-30. Hypersensitive. Cannot tolerate VERY high SPF. Clogs easily caused by moderately huge pores. Chin prone to cystic acne.

There you go. I’m glad that my skin is getting back to its pre-acne state now and Hanskin BB Cream has been helping me keep my skin smooth without breaking me out. Kudos to VMV’s Superskin 3 line and Cure Natural Aqua Gel as well, I love this trio skinsavers! :)

Going back to the review, let me go into details about how I think this BB Cream worked on me.

    TEXTURE && APPLICATION:

For a BB Cream with Medium-Full Coverage, it was a surprise that this one came out runny, therefore, it was easier for me to spread it all over my face. I usually use my fingers to spread them evenly since it does the trick for me and I find it hassle-free especially for tardy girls in the morning! :)

    SHADE:

On the site, there were 3 shades: 13/Light Milk Beige, 21/Light Pink Beige, and 23/Yellow Beige. unfortunately, I think that shade #13 isn’t available in the Philippines since I only almost find the two darker shades in online shops(They’re sold cheaper there than the malls) and i haven’t visited any Missha counters yet. I usually get my stocks online because I find them convenient.

I tried both darker shades and I prefer no.21 better, although no.23 suited my skin to a T! Reason for that would be that no.21 gives me that porcelain  and bright finish since I can always dust on darker powder over the BB Cream to tone down the geisha look. On my NC25 face, no. 21 would be 2 shades lighter when applied on its medium strenght and 3-4 shades lighter when applied for a fully made-up look. No.21 can also cover dark circles extremely well that I felt all doll-ISH while I was wearing it.

No.23 would be great if you prefer the natural look and I can only recommend this NATURAL look if you have NC25-30 skin, otherwise, get that DARKER powder on, okay? :)

Both shades leave a whitecast in pictures especially even after 4 hours post-application. Undertones aren’t that strong, more neutral than other BB Creams. :)

Using no.#23 yellow Beige in this picture. :)

Fter 8 hours of tiresome RLE duty. :)

    COVERAGE:

MEDIUM-FULL. I’m glad that this doesn’t cake up when you build it up, but it’s no superman so PLEASE DO BLEND IT WELL. By NO CAKE, I mean GOOD BLENDING, okay? :)

I’ve also noticed how natural it looked when it sets to your original skintone. By the end of the day, no one would even notice you have make-up on, and believe me, IT’S THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED THAT BB CREAM MAGIC KOREANS HAD BEEN CRAZY ABOUT: the way it would dissapear in your skin!

But I beg you to fret because that would only be possible if you have mild-no breakouts! If you have moderate-severe acne, then I wouldn’t really think you could feel the MAGIC I’m talking about.

Oh! Concealer is a must if you have active pimples because like any other BB cream, it wouldn’t cover bumpy redness well, but it does good on uneven skin tone and brown-light acne/acne scars.

    OIL CONTROL:

ABOVE AVERAGE. It came as another surprise because this was supposed to be an anti-aging cream. I just only need to blot once a day when I was using this, and IT WAS SO GLORIOUS because my skin is an extreme oil factory and it takes effort to tame it down like that, with Missha(and my Fanny Serano two-way cake!), that wasn’t a BOOHOO at all! :)

    SKIN BENEFITS:

It dried my pimples after I washed it off via my everyday double-cleansing process. Also, I noticed how it calmed my irritated skin after just one usage.

I also love the SPF content of it, SPF25 since I’m HIGH SPF-intolerant.

there weren’t noticeable whitening, as far as I can tell.

    PRICE:

Expensive, especially when you try to buy it in Missha stores in Malls, the mark-ups are too high. 20ml of this product sells for 700-750PHP ($16+) online(ebay PH), the seller which I’ve mentioned a while back sells it for something like that. 45g of the product, on the other hand, sells for 33$ (approximately 1400+ in philippine peso).

If you know someone in South Korea or at least someone who’s visiting the place, then I recommend you ask that person to help you buy this in case you want to get the bigger tubes because cosmetics in Seoul are sold much much CHEAPER than when it is exported. :) Samples are FREE too.. and a lot!

    AVAILABILITY:

Unlike other BB Creams, Missha is probably one of the most popular in the country and overseas. Almost every online store sells different sizes of it and if you’re not really accustomed to online shopping(which i recommend you should TO SAVE YOUR YOUNG AND SPOILT LIFE! *wink*), then you could check out Missha branches over at Malls in the Metro.

    OVERALL:

My description is kind of overrated, I think. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY FAVORITE BB CREAM for all its glory until IT GAVE ME WHITEHEADS! Lots of them!

I used this everyday while I was travelling to Cebu, Philippines and just after a week, my eyes were watering in pain when my dermatologist extracted every one of those gross babies from my face. Remember when I said that my pores clogged easily? SILICONE.. lots of SILICONE in this BB cream.Well, that’s what happened!

Good thing I didn’t break out from those thousand bumps yet when I decided to get my usual facial sessions. God, that hurt.. and scars were all over my face after that. talk about major DRAMA.

Anyhoo, I recommend that if you REALLLLLYYYY liked the finish of this BB Cream and wouldn’t throw it away despite its pore-clogging properties, then DON’T USE THIS OFTEN, the least. Use it for special occasions to fake that dramatic, poreless face.

But I think people who aren’t sensitive to SILICONE and does not clog easily can use this on a daily basis, take my Missha-loving bestfriend, for example. :)

I’d rate this 3/5, because of the silicones. I will never go near this thing again. EVER.

After 13 hours of classes. Now isn’t it a steal, I GUESS?

That’s it! Next BB Cream I’d be reviewing is the Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream! Stay tuned~

    xoxo,

    Byeolie. <3

  5. HANSKIN SUPER PERFECT BB CREAM review

    I’ve always been acne-free.

I had the occasional pimples or those bumps you have when  you first had your period but all in all, blemishes and big, red pustules were never my problem. I was the normal girl who had clear skin but not the VERY PERFECT SKIN.

I couldn’t say that the skin on my face was that of a goddess but I can be clear that I never suffered from acne throughout my young existence.

Until almost 2 years ago when my grandfather died of Cancer and I was severely depressed (even when I haven’t noticed) that I started to break out like crazy. During the summer, tiny red bumps started to appear on my face that even my old aunt made fun of. Some of my young aunts who arrived for the funeral criticized my deep and terrible undereye circles, and yes, the bumps that were appearing on my face.

Not long, I was abusing my face with different products hoping to have it clear again, most were cosmetics because I wasn’t used to walking around with red bumps all over, and cystic pimples too, yes, the horror, they also started appearing. Cosmetics were my way of covering those imperfections up but when night striked, I was back to being depressed with my damaged complexion.

When I first ventured into BB Cream, I was so obsessed with how they were marketed. I love the fact that they were make-up and skin care in one so I spent my ample days experimenting with every BB Cream I researched to be perfect for my skin problem. Also, my fandom for K-pop increased these magic products allure to me, I thought that I’ve found my dream elixir!

Until I realized that not every promise they offered was satisfying. Even those targeted for acne skin did not work wonders on my acne skin. I tried a lot of different brands such as Skin79, BRTC, Dr. Jart, Innisfree, Lioele, Missha, Canmake, Sakura Kiss, Coogi, Skinfood, and Hanskin. I even tried a local brand that attempted to make their own version of the Korea’s hottest product (and which I am also going to make a review on soon), Barenaturals

The search was going on and on, and my face was getting more and more sensitive by the moment too. My pores clog easily. I had a few acne marks from previous active pimples. I often get cystic ones that hurt like hell. My face was an extreme oil factory that you could fry eggs on it. I even couldn’t use whitening products because they could only worsen my problem. I was so hopeless because I was desperate to find my HG.

and I am happy to say that the search is finally over.

HANSKIN has won me over not just once, but for a lot of times already.

I also tried its Acne Control variant but I’mma do a review on it later on.

Now everyone, meet HANSKIN SUPER PERFECT BB CREAM, my HG BB Cream.

Now note how I photographed it with those pearls and all. Well, as you know, HANSKIN is known as the ‘KING OF BB CREAMS’, because it was Korea’s pioneer maker of the BB Cream.

Also, Hanskin won Best Brand for 4 consecutive years now.

It is a very established South Korean brand that is considered ‘THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS’ of korean beauty simply because it is a renowned classic. Think Marilyn Monroe if it was a celebrity!

Luckily, I found the description and ingredients of this product on the net.

    Features:

    5. Glacier water - Calms and protects sensitive skin, reduces redness on the skin

    Recommended Skin Type:

There. So I also want to emphasize that when I read about Hanskin, I would always encounter the phrase  ”..from natural ingredients that are gentle to the skin and to the earth.” and being an organic junkie (ME!) who is also very obsessed with Skin-safe products, I was eager to give the brand a try!

So finally, after all much blabbering, HERE IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY. :)

NOTE: This variant is not Hanskin’s Best seller, just for a bit of information. There aren’t a lot of reviews when I tried it and even until now so my ratings and reviews are non-biased because I tried it without any expectations on how the BB cream would feel or work. Just saying.

    TEXTURE:

It was a cross between creamy and non-creamy. When you squeeze a bit of it out of the tube, it would feel a bit thick but never sticky. It’s consistency was that like of foundation but thicker, so I warm it on my fingers before I spread it on my face.

    APPLICATION:

..was a breeze, actually! I’m not sure if it’s just me not being used to watery BB creams but I swear that it was easy to apply. Of course, you need a little blending here and there but your fingers can definitely do the job. I haven’t tried spreading it with a sponge or brush because seriously man, with a price like that, who wants to waste the product? I also need to mention that a little goes a long freaking way, especially when you’re using the one in NATURAL.

    COLOR/SHADE:

There are two shades to the cream: #1 BRIGHT and #2 NATURAL. I’m an NC25 (well, my face is, my neck is NC30, IKR it’s weird.) and #2 fits my skin perfectly well, only, it has a pink hue or undertone to it, in contrast to my strong yellow undertones. I tried #1 as well, and I seriously like it better because it brightens my complexion and covers my undereye circles.

A bit of a darker powder dabbed after the BB cream would do the trick so to make it look more natural than the geisha-look. My only problem for the asian women who have yellow undertones is the pink hue the BB cream possess, both shades create the same undertone so its actually up to you to help yourself. I like dusting my Fanny Serano Two-Way cake on top of it to make the look more neutral and less pale, and mind you, it does magic all the time!

    COVERAGE:

Sheer to Medium. It will feel as if you have foundation on but the more lighter foundations, I should mean. It can cover melasma and uneven skin tone and a bit of freckles. for the under eye area, it will make a descent camouflage but I recommend using a concealer if you prefer the dollish look.

If you have less visible acne marks, the cream can cover that quite well but it does a terrible job with active pimples or fresh acne: I mean those scary, huge red monsters! You may need concealer for that, I use Hanskin Blemish Cover and they’re quite a tandem to fake that porcelain, korean-actress skin.

This is an example of how I look after I set the BB Cream, applied concealer and dusting my FS cake on top of it. Left: Dim light. Right: Real light.

    OIL-CONTROL:

Average. I may need to blot after 3 hours even with my FS cake on. That wouldn’t be a problem if you have oil-blotting sheets on hand and if you live in a much colder climate. I live in the Philippines and it’s terribly humid here so my make-up melts easily throughout the day.

    SKIN BENEFITS:

I haven’t noticed any whitening effect but I did notice how my skin is so much smoother now. The tiny bumps were gone (Thanks to my VMV Hypoallergenic set for that one too!) and I can see improvements though not drastic. I’ve only used this for 4 months now and so far, so good.

HAS SPF30 TO GRANT YOU THE REQUIRED SUN PROTECTION~

    PRICE:

IT.IS.FREAKING.EXPENSIVE. I got my tube on a bid for 740PHP ($17) online but it normally retailed for 1400+PHP ($34)!!!!! So I was imagining how much it would cost if it was released in the malls because they usually put really high mark-ups on products like these. So hon, if you’re a student, go for the trial sizes first ( search ebay) before risking on the tube, because we all have different skin types and skin reactions to products, what might work for me might not be for you. For a price like that and on a recessive country like ours, you gotta be smart!

    AVAILABILITY:

Currently in the Philippines, you can only get it online. I got mine via ebay. For foreign buyers, you might as well try Amazon or directly G-market!

    PACKAGING:

Classic and simple. Shiny Black tube with printings on it, doesn’t look expensive like my Dr. Jart Black Label BB Cream but it doesn’t look overly-designed too.

    VERDICT:

I KNOW THAT YOU GUYS MIGHT SAY THAT IT ISN’T MUCH OF A WOW-CREAM THROUGH HOW I DESCRIBED IT BUT IT IS MY HOLY GRAIL SIMPLY BECAUSE IT DID NOT CLOG MY PORES LIKE FOREVER.

I mentioned how I hated that my pores are moderately huge and clogs easily so I am always careful with my cosmetics nowadays and especially when my skin is getting better.

I no longer suffer from white heads and active pimples and my face seem smoother now than it was almost 2 years ago. My only problem would be the marks those pimples left but I’m glad to say that they are healing and disappearing as well, with the help of Cure Natural Aqua Gel.

This is also an amazing BB cream because it is a basic make-up every girl must have. Hanskin have proven me of their promise for a skin-friendly product and I must say that I am believer of their brand now.

It had calmed my skin like no other BB Cream had done. After a long day, when I take it off, my skin seem more.. much better and non-irritated. It hasn’t aggravated my skin problems, which I really like as I am still on the healing process of it all.

It’s a perfect BB Cream to aid you for a more beautiful skin while undergoing treatments and therapy. I can even use it 2 days after my facial session, that’s how safe it is.

So all in all, I wouldn’t mind the steep price as I find it effective in regards to skin properties and as a make-up as well. I can use it everyday without worrying of suffocated skin.

Needless to say, I LOVE IT!

It is a highly-recommended product by me, a hypersensitive-skinned person.

    Like seriously.

&& I hope this review had been useful!

PS. I am trying their Best seller next: HANSKIN PREMIUM SUPER MAGIC BB CREAM and I will update you guys on how it turned out.

    Toodles, sweeties! <3

  7. DR. JART BLACK LABEL DETOX HEALING BB CREAM review

    HELLO EVERYONE!

I was supposed to do this review later next week but my friend, who also happens to follow me, had noticed that I was reblogging too much, WHICH I PROMISED NOT TO DO IN EXCESS. ha! So, you know who you are, THANK YOU FOR PULLING ME OFF MY BED TO GET ME SOME WAKE-UP CALL. LOOOOL.

So, off to what I’m suppose to tell you about:

It’s the DR. JART BLACK LABEL DETOX HEALING BB CREAM review!

    Hooray, hooray! Suprised?!

Ugh. I look TIRED here. BAD IMPRESSION.

(one of the times I wore the product. Not bad.)

Moving on, Dr. Jart is actually a very reputable korean brand because like It’s Skin, another brand, Dr. Jart products are formulated by physicians who pay attention to skin needs ranging from mild to severe, but I’m opinionated to the fact that they cater to the blemished skin considering their large series of acne-fighting and detoxifying creams, toners, and whatever.

It’s also quite PRICEY, yikes! And I’m very sure that it’s not one of Korea’s drugstore products, it’s a HIGH-END one considering the price.. and well, the CLASS.

I was pretty addicted to Korean cosmetics after I developed my undying love to 2ne1, and since BB Creams are pretty much the hype right now, as much as Mineral Make-up is, I decided to try this one, since I’ve read very good reviews about it, and a few bad ones, so, nevermind.

For the record, BB Creams are immensely popular in Korea, and now, to the worldwide market. What is particularly endearing about these wonder creams is the fact that THEY ARE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL AND THEY DO NOT DAMAGE THE SKIN AS MUCH AS FOUNDATION DOES. They are formulated with different extracts to cater different skin care needs, it’s like a serum with coverage! It compares to a tinted moisturizer.. ONLY BETTER.

So I have to stop BLAH BLAH-ing about all those crap because I think that a separate post on the generality of BB Creams is needed rather than sum them all up here, that, I’ll do later.

SO THE DR. JART BLACK LABEL DETOX HEALING BB CREAM is a popular choice among women who feel serious about treating their skin problems and at the same time, covering those pesky, little imperfections to a T!

It comes in a classy, black tube with minimalist design of the details, VERY CHIC AND EXPENSIVE-LOOKING.

    In the box it says:

This unique triple action formula containing innovative active ingredients aims at naturally covering skin blemishes, protecting skin from UV ray and activating skin rejuvination. It also smoothes wrinkles and fine lines while providing nourishment to the skin.

    THAT’S A LOT! wow. Vegetable-goddess likeeeeeey!

Before I start, let me tell you about my SKIN.

    - I’m terribly breakout-prone. My pores clog easily and I cannot stand too much product layered on my face. I don’t suffer a number of cystic acne though, but I do have them once in a while, although just one or two.

    - I’m pretty much an oily person, and I MEAN OIL-FACTORY PERSON. Without primer, powder or anything, my face oils up in an hour.

    -My pores are moderately visible.

    - Pimples are my current skin issue and nothing else. I don’t have dry patches and I don’t have uneven skintone. I also have VERY VERY few blackheads.

-Right now, I don’t have any new active pimples to worry about but I do have some scars those cursed things left me. LOL.

Okay then, NOW ON WITH THE REAL THING.

    AAAARE YOU REEEEAAADY? :)))

CONSISTENCY AND APPLICATION: This BB cream is quite THICK and without primer or moisturizer, it could be a bit hard to apply and blend. What’s good about this is that IT’S VERY CREAMY, yet HEAVY, so it wouldn’t dry fast, giving you more time to blend. the thing also dries PRETTY SLOW, so you really need to control application. Too much of this will leave your face feeling sticky for a good 30 minutes. SERIOUSLY.

THE LOOK: As promised, this BB cream looked dewy AND VERY MUCH NATURAL. I’m an NC25 (NC30 in the summer) and I didn’t need to wait for a few more minutes for it to set into my exact skintone because IT IS MY SKINTONE, only, I’ve noticed that it had a pinkish-greyish undertone to it, though it looks BEIGE from afar. I prefer YELLOW undertones to neutralize my already slightly-ruddy complexion, with this BB cream, COULDN’T I GET MORE REDDER?!

OIL-CONTROL: For a moisturizing BB cream, this one was pretty good! With powder patted on top of it, I had to blot about 4 hours later, AND IT WAS WEIRD BECAUSE I AM AN EXTREMELY OILY PERSON ESPECIALLY ON HUMID WEATHER.

COVERAGE: PERFECT! i heard that the silver one was better, but what the hell?! For a BB cream who needs to work double time as a skincare product as well, THIS ONE AMAZED ME FOR COVERING MINOR IMPERFECTIONS, REDNESS AND MY HIDEOUS DARK CIRCLES! (I wore this during the middle of the school year, the time when I was most stressed and sleep-deprived.)

EFFICIENCY AS SKINCARE PRODUCT: GREAT AS WELL! I wasn’t using any whitening crap in the evening while I was using this but I noticed a brighter facial condition from myself! wrinkle-improvement? Well, I don’t worry about those as I’m only 19. LOL.

    CONS:

BREAKOUTS! I wouldn’t be recommending this to acne-prone ladies because it gave me super-inflamed pimples whenever I use this 3 days straight or when I splat too much of it on my face. But again, this one’s the moisturizing number as compared to the silver one so it was probably my fault for being so stupid upon choosing.

THE PRICE! Recently, the Philippine market had pulled out this brand from the shelves. A 50ml tube of this costs 1,950PHP. You can get it 1,250PHP - 1,400PHP online, which isn’t really suitable for budget people and highschool students. College students like me can cope! HEEHEE.

THE SHADE! Like I said, it suits NC25 and up people but definitely not NC30 and below, believe me. It also has this greyish-pinkish undertone which would look unnatural for people who have STRONG YELLOW UNDERTONES. If you’re morena and NC40, you can always mix the thing with a bit of a darker foundation (But if I were you, DON’T DO THAT. Mixing BB creams with foundation only lowers the product’s efficiency as skincare so your quest into beautiful skin is.. well, DELAYED. I do recommend PURE, MINERAL FOUNDATION though, without the extra ingredients, that’s what i do with my current BB, Hanskin.) Another alternative would be applying the BB Cream first, setting it, and then applying liquid/powder  foundation after, that way, the Bb cream sinks into your skin first creating a shield from the damages of foundation.. well, a little?

So it’s up to you how you’d work that thing, OR JUST FORGET ABOUT IT AND GET A DARKER BB CREAM. LE’GERE MULTI-WHITE IS HIGHLY RAVED.

OVERALL: I really don’t mind spending for a good product and I would’ve loved this if not for the pimples it gave me. Design-wise, i was all up for it. It just had this dewy, natural finish which I like and I felt like Shin Min Ah whenever I have this product on my face.

Also, I wear this alone and a bit of powder on top as I’m oily, no concealer needed, plus, no one wants to look like he/she is attending  a HUGE BALL everyday!

I haven’t tried the silver label yet, BUT IF YOU’RE OILY, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DOING MY MISTAKE AND PURCHASE THAT INSTEAD! Be warned though, it’s a bit fairer than NC20 and up probably.

But if you insist on purchasing this Black Label instead, PLEASE PLEASE USE  A PRIMER AND DO NOT OVER-APPLY. You wouldn’t like THE CAKE FACE in the middle of the day, correct?

THIS IS MOST SUITABLE FOR DRY SKINTYPES AND THOSE WHO WISH TO EVEN OUT THEIR SKINTONE SINCE THIS ONE HAS VERY GREAT WHITENING PROPERTIES! I also recommend this for those who aren’t allergic to SILICONE and those who do not break-out upon trial of new product.

Meanwhile, my little tube over here will be kept lovingly as I still LOVE IT even if it did me wrong. Aww. MOMMA love!

    That’s all for now!

drop me a message if you have questions!

    KISS, KISS! Bye, bye?

    NOT.

    CHEESES! <3
